Summary | I am a neuroscientist focused on understanding glial reactivity following brain injury. To address these issues, I rely on image processing tools and statistical modeling using Python and R. I am an ardent advocate for open and reproducible science, and a dedcitaed educator in good research practices and research data managemen. Science communication and my recent foray into project management complement my skill set. |

Publications
-
2024.06.01 Unbiased quantification of the spatial distribution of murine cells using point pattern analysis
STAR protocols
This protocol presents a stepwise approach to quantitatively describe the spatiotemporal changes in glial cell rearrangement in the injured murine brain
-
2022.06.01 Tenascin-C restricts reactive astrogliosis in the ischemic brain
Matrix Biology
We show that TnC plays a central role in restraining post-ischemic astrogliosis and regulating astrocyte-microglial interactions.
-
2021.07.01 Tenascin-C preserves microglia surveillance and restricts leukocyte and, more specifically, T-cell infiltration of the ischemic brain
Brain, Behavior, and Immunity
In this artcile, we propose that the reduced microglia surveillance in TnC deficient mice favour leukocyte accumulation in the ischemic brain.
-
2021.06.15 Inhibitory control in neuronal networks relies on the extracellular matrix integrity
Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences
We show that the brain’s ECM preserves the balanced state of neuronal networks by supporting inhibitory control via inhibitory synapse stabilization, which expands the current understanding of brain activity regulation.
-
2019.04.16 Topological remodeling of cortical perineuronal nets in focal cerebral ischemia and mild hypoperfusion
Matrix Biology
Here, we show that focal cerebral ischemia induces partial depletion of PNNs and that mild hypoperfusion not associated with ischemic injury can induce ultra-structural rearrangements in visually intact meshworks. In line with the activation of neural plasticity under mild stress stimuli, we provide evidence that topological conversion of PNNs can support post stroke neural rewiring.
